First, thank you! We know you’re working hard to help your patients! We also know you’re working hard to keep yourself, your family, your team, and your patients safe. We appreciate you.
As we were navigating this new world, we came to the conclusion that we needed to adjust our protocols while keeping our doors open. We know that sleep apnea treatment can be really valuable during this pandemic and that oral appliances, in particular, are extremely valuable. We wrote a blog about that here.
In that light, we have shifted many appointments to be conducted via Telemedicine. We can do a lot of appointments like this, and it has been working well!
When patients do need to come into the office, they need to answer some screening questions, and then upon arrival, we take their temperature right from their vehicle. Following this, they are escorted directly into a treatment room. We are not allowing anyone to utilize our waiting room and we are enforcing the 6-ft distancing rule. Our clinical team utilizes gowns and face shields in addition to the PPE we were already using, and while our sanitizing protocol has always been stringent, we have increased that as well.
We are taking this situation very seriously and doing our best to adjust and keep everyone safe and well!
